Disagree 100% -- Fight within the Republican Party in the primary, but support the winner of that primary. What this approach will do is drive away the 90% of Repubicans who are not hardliners. We would be saying, "We'll run in the primary, but if we lose, we won't support the person chosen by the rank-and-file. In other words, we're disloyal." It's this sort of shooting ourself in the foot that helps the enemy.
